I posted this on another thread without response and think it's s worthy of investigation. 44mag.com sells the black dog 50 round drum for the 15-22 and according to the item descrition, it fits the sig 522 and a numer of other conversions and other rifles. Is this description correct? Does this indicate that sig 522 mags and the listed conversion mags will fit the 15-22?

Wouldnt it make more sense to contact S&W or Black Dog?

Not at all. If you sell mags, who's are you going to recomend? Your own brand of course. The description on 44mag.com is a little deceptive. I found that the mag has interchangable towers that have to purchased separately to fit the listed rifles, so I've answered my own question. However, the reason for the interest was to see if I could pick up a sig 522 two pack of 30 roumd mags at academy for 30 bucks and use them in the 15-22. I see that the answer is no, but was still worth asking.

Tracking. Tisk Tisk 44Mag

I think the real reason to stick to the same companies mags is that there is no general set design for a 22LR mag feed lip placement, thus each different companies may place there feed lip on the mag a little differently. I also believe the reason is the 22LR does not get the respect of most large weapon company due to the reliablity of the rim fire cartridge. I've see M16 mags able to fit other 5.56/.223 weapons because the M16/AR15/M4 platform is made by so many different vendors and the Mil-spec guidelines apply. Maybe one day, but I don't see that in the works at this point. Good topic to discuss...

I believe you need the tower conversion kit to make the 50 round drum work on the 15-22.

*sorry didnt read all the previous posts
