I've had a Shield in 9mm for about a year now and really love this gun.
I've had the trigger done on it and have Ameriglo sights installed.
I have both IWB and OWB (Stealthgear) holsters, really no complaints. I shoot it pretty well, at 20-25 feet I can group 2-3 inch groups pretty consistently. In the "FLex" the OWB holster I forget I even have it on.
I recently picked up a 9C.
At first I didn't really like it (stock mass trigger.....yuck )
I had the trigger done on it and now absolutely love it.
I've found that now that I've become accustomed to this gun , I tend to shoot it quite a bit better than my shield. I got one of the new Stealthgear "Mini" IWB holsters for it and find I can carry it IWB just as comfortably as my shield.
I havea JM Kustom Kydex holster (OWB) that I had made for my FS .40. I no longer have that gun but the 9C fits in perfectly. It's a little long but Jim aid send it back and he'll shorten down for me so it fits the 9C correctly (pretty awesome of him).
Those are also very comfortable OWB Kydex holsters that conceal surprisingly well (if anyone is looking for an OWB)
I'm wondering how others on here who have both of these in 9mm feel about them. Prefer one over the other?
I think if I had started with the 9C I may have passed on the shield completely. I started with a Full size .40 , went to the shield and now have the 9C.
I easily shoot the 9C best out of those 3 (I couldn't shoot the .40 well for the life of me)

I got a Shield.....

I thought the 9c was surprising heavy for it's size and being an M&P. I wouldn't mind having one though.

I really like the Shield. Very slim and carryable. Love the trigger. Comfortable to shoot and shoots well for SD. I consider it a 'fun gun' also, because it is such a comfortable shooter. I have one carry gun by another manufacturer and it is NOT a 'fun' gun to shoot. My wife likes it, too. :)

A 9c was my first non-22 handgun and i put a lot of reliable rounds thru it. I shot it fine but didnt care for the feel with the stock mags; was better with a full size mag. So picked up a full size MP for range fun and home defense, love it.
Recently picked up a Shield PC and love it as well. Though a totally different feel than the full size i shoot it well and it feels perfect.
So for me the compact was good but not a fave. Its bigger and smaller relatives work much better for me. And if i like a gun it will go to the range more often.

I own a 9c and a good friend owns a 9 Shield. I like shooting his shield, and shoot it well, but am pleased that I bought the 9c for my carry gun. A bit heavier, but I'm carrying more ammo and I like the bit more width of the grip. I've never had a gripe about the factory trigger on any of my 3 M&Ps.

I bought the Shield 9 a couple years ago and thought about getting the 9c also but the grip just wasn't comfortable for me. The standard mag made the grip too short. I know I could have used the FS 9 mag in the 9c, but just decided to get the FS 9 instead.

I like the 9c better.

The Shield is the best of the tiny guns, but still tiny. This makes it difficult to manipulate. The 9c is still small, but much easier to manipulate.

I place more value on being able to hit what I'm shooting than ease of carry.

I have a 9c with Apex goodies and a .45 Shield. The 9c is very accurate because of the trigger job and general ergonomics. My .45 Shield is less accurate over 9 yards but carries more comfy and packs a bigger punch. I carry the .45 mostly in warmer months and the larger 9c mostly in the winter. Your needs may vary.

Pretty much what I've been doing.
shield in the summer (I have a smart carry as well that works great under cargo shorts for deep conceal)
now in the fall and winter I'll be carrying the 9C and my XDM .45 more often as it's much easier
than it is in the summer.

I had the 9c, liked the gun but honestly couldn't find a place of fit, my shield conceals a lot better better, and already have a full size 9mm for the range.

I vote for the Shield! Small, Thin, Light, Concealable, and an Excellent
Shooter! Also totally reliable!
I have the FS too, but the shield is my choice for a Range Gun. Fun to shoot!

I have a shield and you cannot beat it for comfort and ease of conceal ability. It won't be going anywhere.
I was recently shooting my Sig P320sc with a buddy who had a M&P C that I was able to shoot. Long story short the Sig is gone and replaced with a M&P C.
It does have a heavier trigger than the Shield but don't notice it much during live fire.

My EDC is the 9C, I have no issue with concealment and preferred the grip over the Shield. We ended up trading the Shield on an ar purchase.

Own and really enjoy both and they both are in my carry rotation. As the other members have mentioned. The 9C really does feel great in the hand with the pinky extension 12rd magazine. It's easier for me to draw do to the bigger girth than the shield. I also have FS 17rd magazine for range trips. I've put apex trigger and worked trigger area personally. Only upgrades I've done, and it's a good shooting accurate handgun. The shield is my favorite of the 2 firearms. The versatility of single stacks are great. You can confidently carry this gun about every way imaginable. I've also completely upgraded the shield. Apex duty carry, stainless steel guide rod, sights, CT, grips and Magguts kits. The trigger it truly sweet in the gun, and I'm deadly accurate 10yards in with it. I typically carry apendex summer months and OWB in fall and winter. Shield and 9C will again split time this winter, however next summer my new Kimber Micro 9 probably will be the one. Enjoy everyone, stay safe.
