Interesting problem

Awhile ago i bought some Tula small pistol primers. The price was the selling point. Anyway have been loading these for my beretta 92 and my sw40f. These have been used for action shooting. So i like to prep and store my brass till needed. I had loaded a bunch of win brass with mg 165 and they were really nice in my sw40f. So i have been using my Beretta 92 for a while and wanted to shoot my Smith. Went to the range and started click click bang click. Well you get it. These fired fine the last time i shot them. So thought my gun was broke. Then tried these same rounds in my 96 and they are fine. Next tried some factory ammo in my Smith and it also was fine. Also had some reloads that i used cci primers in and the sw40 had no problems. The primer hits seem hard enough to fire. Question are striker fired guns more finicky about what primers are used. Like i said i ran probably 600 rds thru my sw40f before i started shooting my beretta. And these fired every time. Could the firing pin springs have gone weak in a few months. I have an apex kit in it, not old. also swapped other springs in but they are not new.

You might check that the primers are seated all the way in those pre-primed cases......................
also they may have picked up some moisture while being stored in an empty case.........

I never seat primers unless powder and a bullet is going on top of it, to make it air tight.

My hammer fired semi-autos have never had a misfire due to "light strikes", but my FMK, 9mm will occationally need a restrike. I an anal about seating primers, especially in my semi-autos and my striker fired 9mm is the only problem I've had. I've disassembled the bolt and cleaned with brake clean and very lightly lubed the firing pin and spring and hoping this will help.

As far as primers, my Wolf primers were a bit more difficult to seat so mebbe your Tula primers, being a little harder to seat, aren't completely seated?

Yes, striker fired guns or things with lightened springs tend not to like them as they tend to be less sensitive. They also are a bit harder to seat than American primers being ever so slightly oversized, but they are not bad primers if you can set them off.

Wolf/Tula primers actually outperformed cci, winchester, and federal in my 308 loads with the lowest ES numbers.

I thought that might be the case too, but i also have some preloaded 165gr Montana gold Tula primers win cased that a month ago fired without a problem. I can still shoot them thru my Beretta 96 and there fine but i did load these for my SW40F. Gonna order some new firing pin springs and see if that helps

I can not tell from your OP. To many things going on.

Did you try to fire the ammo with the Tula Primers a second time? Double strike?? In the same gun they failed in.If so did they go off??

There is nothing wrong with Tula or Wolf primers. As mentioned they are harder and may not seat as well.

Tula is not Wolf and Wolf is not Tula.

Tula is not Wolf and Wolf is not Tula.

Both Wolf and Tulammo are importers not manufacturers, same as cabelas Herters line.

Yup tried to fire again and click. Put it in my beretta 96 and bang everytime. Like i was saying i worked up the montana gold load in this gun. All seemed fine. Stopped shooting this gun for a little while. Then when i took it to the range this past weekend was having all kinds of no fires. Some would go off after a few retaps But all that would not did in my Beretta.

Then I suspect the guns firing pin and or spring.

I have some custom tuned guns that will not ignite Wolf primers they are harder than say Winchester whuch do work in those guns. My guns are not so light that they need Federal which go off if you look at them wrong
