Thumbing through the May/June 2012 issue of American Handgunner magazine (page 44), I came across everyone's favorite Internet Commando, James Yeager, demonstrating an ankle rig, while wearing his scariest bad dude expression. In a previous Lounge thread several of us discussed this big-talking buffoon and his comical online videos ... remember his cinematic gem "Why 1911s Suck!" I think Yeager is a crude, arrogant, blowhard who is obsessed with bragging about his "15,000 students who have fired 15 million rounds" while touting Glocks as the greatest firearms known to mankind. That said, what made me laugh is that Yeager is wearing a Thunder Ranch shirt in the magazine feature. Having taken two TR courses myself, and had the privilege and pleasure of making the acquaintance of Clint and Heidi Smith, I can say with certainty that Yeager's over-inflated ego, tough guy bravado, and abrasive know-it-all attitude wouldn't last one minute with Clint Smith. I can only conclude that Yeager mailed ordered his TR shirt, while dreaming of being a legitimate Thunder Ranch alumni.

I don't know the guy but I watched his video. He has a nervous twitch, an ugly shirt and face.

The USMC is gonna be in a heap of trouble.;)

Doomas's---they are everywhere....

Don't you just love it when everyone has to be someone...............I've seen a few of these experts on the range. Usually with a nice looking female by their side that they obviously duped into being there for their first time ever shooting lesson. About the time the 29-2 6-6.5" .44 mag with Cor-bon 320 gr. rounds was held up with bent elbows about 10" in front of her face, I calmly and easily stepped in and said "Miss, please slowly point the handgun towards the ground about ten feet in front of you and let me take it from you before you hurt yourself." He looked at me as if I was undressing his new bride as I reached for the gun from his off-side. She looked at me very confused and I told her she was about to get a free ride to the local hospital. She then got real interested in what I had to say. He started to say something and I advised him that since he was the one going to send her to the hospital and that he should take the opportunity to watch and learn. He was a bit huffy, but at least smart enough to not impede my progress. I cleared the 29 and put some factory 240 grain rounds in and showed her a proper stance for allowing the elbows to take the recoil instead of her forehead. She shot six rounds and thanked me for the help. I smiled and she turned to her companion and said she was ready to leave.

But do you have a You Tube Video??:D;)

Who is this guy? I’ve never heard of him until now. He acts as if he is the only person that has ever deployed / draw/returned fire. I've dealt with a few contractors in the AOR and you are instantly able to tell the real pros from the over confident, loud month, self-promoting "look how bad I am" types, with their bald heads, goatees and tattoo sleeves. Standard issue tryhard. I checked out one of his YouTube vids and in the comments, over a caliber disagreement, he actually challenged a respondent to a gunfight. Dangerous….

This guy isn't related to Gen. Chuck Yeager, is he? For the famous pilot's sake, I hope not.

The good folks around here try to be nice. We all know and love these folks. They are like my Aunt, who wouldn't say feces ( or the equivalent) if she had a mouth full.
If Aunt Sara were to meet Mr. Y, she would smile sweetly and say, "Well bless your heart". ( That translates to 'You are a SPECIAL kind of stupid, aren't ya?')
As to his RESUME'. I'm seeing a great deal of this school of creative writing. Mostly used by people trying to sell something they don't have.

I had never heard of this clown (I just watched a few seconds from a couple of his youtube videos)...

He certainly has a very high opinion of himself...

Here's a link to a bio it seems he put together...

I'd love to check his resume for facts, but quite frankly, his qualifications have left me in too much awe of his magnificence.

Here's a video. Don't look if you're squeamish; three men die while you're watching.

Yeager is in the car up front on the right.
It was operable but he failed to get it going to haul his mates out of the kill zone.

How do we know that? The video quality is so bad that it's hard to see EXACTLY what's going on. I'm not saying your wrong. I just don't see it.

Instructor wanted: Must have the following. black t shirt, chrome lens sunglasses,Tactical tupperware in 9mm and be a legend in his own mind. Yep thats him.

His ongoing Glock'n'spiel is textbook fan-boy fodder. And somewhere in his youtube yodelings, he claimed that "the sun has set on revolvers." That's my favorite Yeagerism thus far.

BTW: I believe he is now offering instruction on Internet Commando body posture and posing. "Mastering the Tough Guy Shoulder Twitch" is the first learning module.

Kanewpaddle, it's a well-documented ambush.
Email me and I'll send you the After Action Report authored by Yeager.
Here's a link to an article on it as well.
A brutal death in Baghdad's gridlock - World - smh.com.au

After reading this account, and specifically Yeager's own words, I'm at a loss ... a self proclaimed weapons expert, training guru, and experienced operator, FORGOT HE WAS IN A STANDARD TRANSMISSION CAR AND ABANDONED THE VEHICLE WHILE TAKING ENEMY FIRE.

Read that also.
Must have been part of the "Buffoon Security Service".
I always turn on my windshield wipers immediately
upon taking enemy fire also.
Plus good idea to start spraying gunfire in all directions
when you have no idea where the incoming is from.
Talk about a Chinese fire drill.
And he is an expert ????
He's one of those guys who could **** up a (one car parade).

Chuck
