Very rude to jump on the board a few weeks back to seek info on my early
8-3/8" 29 without proper intro
. I was out of shooting from about 2003-
2008,anyway I have owned S&Ws since about 1971 after college and Dirty
Harry
. I picked up a 4screw 29 8-3/8" in 1972 from an older gent where
I lived in Maine for the princely sum of $80--he had slain many deer with it,
unfortunately the revolver's finer points did not rub off on me and when I
missed Bambi's Dad @50 yds my Father-in-law thought very little of the gun
and even less of me
but life happens
I have been challenged the past
14 years living in SOCAL with the terrible gun laws, earthquakes, fires,
droughts, and some very unusual people/lifestyles etc
This Board is "Top Shelf" with very friendly and knowledgeable people--this
will probably be my only S&W as I am a committed Colt freak but aside from
that I am a pretty down to earth guy. At 60,I still step off a moving boat,
coming alongside a moving 1000' tanker and climb a rope ladder to board,
I'm ok so far but I always remember what Clint once said---- "Man's got to KNOW his limitations"
