I'm a new member here and hope to participate some and learn.

I'm a retired federal LEO...worked in and around DC and now live in AZ and loving it.

To be honest...I'm much more into collecting Colt firearms but own a few S&W's as well as other makes...often times it's whatever hits me at the moment that strikes my interest.

The S&Ws I own at present are:

Model 19-4...the first handgun I ever purchased (back in the late 1970s)
Model 29-3 Lew Horton Special
Model 4046 (only because I was issued one...I consider it the "Boat Anchor Model"...never liked it.)
Model 41...the most accurate .22 I own.
Model 66 snubby...wanted a M19 snubby but the price of good ones is simply too high.

I've owned others...some I liked and some I didn't. For most of my law enforcement career I was issued a Model 64...super handgun. I was an instructor for the agency and when a shipment of new revolvers was received I test fired them and picked out this one for myself.

Don't know how often I'll be stopping by but I hope to as much as possible.

Welcome to the Forum from SW Ohio. Glad to have you aboard! Happy Thanksgiving!

Snidely Whiplash, eh? :D Makes me a bit envious. I may have to see if I can change my name to Professor Fate. :D Welcome on board. I think you’ll like the place.

Welcome from NC. I worked in DC for 4 years and out of DC for 8 years before reaching escape velocity, and I have no desire to ever return.

I also lived in Prescott AZ for a couple years back in the early 1980s before the Phoenicians and progress discovered and largely ruined it. Still, infinitely better than DC.

Welcome aboard from coastal North Carolina.

My first revolver purchase for duty was a model 15. Nine years later, 1977, I bought a model 19-4 4-inch nickel that I carried until I pulled the pin in 2001. Both were great!

I started buying Smith pistols when I lived in Buckeye, AZ before moving to NC. Once in NC, I had to buy a large gun safe to safeguard my growing accumulation of Gen3s.

I agree with your description of the 4046. That said, I favor the DAO model 3953 and 4053 for carry options, and love shooting most of my collection.

Enjoy your time on the time!

Welcome from Southern Illinois to ya, Snidely!....If you're Snidely from the Colt Forum, you'll be a great addition here also!

I'm the same guy. I love the Colt Forum...many super people there. It looks like the S&W Forum is much the same...I'll enjoy it.
