Is 9mm a sign of growing older?

I'm older and I still don't believe in the 9mm or in bullet technology elevating its performance to any significant extent. I don't want shrunken pistols and it's too easy to carry holstered automatics chambered for better cartridges than 9mm. I sure don't buy into the oft repeated internet notion that 9mm with current ammunition technology is just as good as ...

It's an odd opinion to hold since I mostly tote a Model 10 .38 Special, except when a .45 caliber 1911 gets the call. Perhaps what I'm saying is that within medium sized handguns that I prefer, the 9mm has no place in my life.

I started with the 9mm and have stuck with it for over 20 years. I'd have no problem with carrying another caliber but I prefer the 9mm. I look at it this way: If'n ya can hit whatcha aimin' at it ain't gonna make a lot of difference.;)

I usually carry a 9 as I like the capacity and the Smith has a safety and I prefer that. The Smith is a nice size for carrying also.

I carried a BHP nine for over 40 years. For the size, weight and capacity it made sense to me. Today in retirement I carry a 649-2 in my pocket but do most of my center fire shooting with my 986 wheelgun in 9mm since the shells are a lot less costly then my true favorites of 38spl/357mag.
