Is a .500 target trigger too wide for a 629-4 Trail Boss?

Hi,
My 629-4 RSR Trail Boss cam with a smooth narrow trigger. I have always been more comfortable with a wider grooved trigger. That's what my old M29 had. Is .500 too wide?

Also is swapping out triggers a DO it yourself task or is it best left to a Gunsmith?

Thanks.

Unless the trigger guard has been narrowed a Target trigger will fit, but may need minor gunsmithing for proper functioning.

It's all about personal preference and I prefer wide, smooth triggers over the narrow, serrated triggers. I have one on a 2.5" 19. Triggers should be fit by someone who knows what they're doing, doesn't necessarily need to be a gunsmith, however.

Nice grips❗️ Think they would work on a 3 inch 44Mag? I am using the stock rubber ones now....

A .500" target trigger will be slightly wider than your trigger guard.

A .400" target trigger will sit just within the trigger guard.

I tend to go with .400"s on guns that I carry for personal defense. I like the .500"s on the longer barreled target and/or hunting revolvers

On a post MIM revovler the parts will drop in all most all of the time.

On a pre-mim revolver like yours, it is a 50/50 bet.
