Is each Walmart different?

I keep hearing stories about lines at Walmart. People are told when ammo shipments are and folks arrive, get in line and get their rationed amount.

I went to one the other day and spoke to the sporting good manager. I asked him on what days at what time to come and get in line. He appeared to be honest.

He said they get a delivery of all kinds of merchandise EVERY evening at approximately 1700. There might be ammo, might not. It might be 22 LR or something else. The ammo might be at the entrance of the trailer or at the very end.

So, he said the best thing to do was to come in every night at about 1900. It is too far away to do that.

Just wondering if I got the straight story or not. All the stories I hear about make it sound like they get it once a week; people can find out the times and line up on that day and time.

Around here, the loads come in around 4pm. Sme days they have ammo, some days they don't. Some stock the ammo as soon as it comes off the truck, others will stock it later in the evening, while others stock it the following morning at 7am.

You have to learn the system your preferred store uses, get the Walmart app, watch for "In Stock" or "Limited Stock " status. When you see it listed, plan on arriving before your preferred location's stocking time, and with any luck, get some ammo.

It's worked wonders for me.

The manager was truthful. Our stores get different orders filled depending on availability, and I am sure there is an element of the ordering desks' persistence that plays a part in the shipping of specialty items- like ammo. A manager who hits the regional distribution center and really asks for something will likely get some attention, whereas if a manager places an order and does not follow up on it, it would be seen as less urgent.

I talked to a worker at my local Wallyworld and he said pretty
much the same thing. They get their truck at 8 PM each day
and he said the ammo goes from the truck directly to the locked
ammo case in "sporting goods dept." as soon as it's unloaded.
He said he does'nt know what if any ammo will be on the days
truck.
Only pisser is i work evenings and don't get off until midnite.
Just looking to buy some .22 LR as i reload for all my centerfires.

The ammo gets to the case between 1am and 2am at one of my local Walmarts. (there are 4 within a 12 mile circle)

They don't know what's coming in. The app does most of the time. Got 1665 rds yesterday using the app. There may be up to a 3 day difference between when the app says it's "In Stock" and when it arrives. But if the app shows it, then it's coming. I'm debating going up there right now because the app shows .223 coming in.

My walmart stocks between 7:00-8:00am.

Just had this happen last week when I was on a 22lr run. Seen it show up in stock at my local store and I was at another store quite a ways away. Called my friend and told him to go up and see if they had any, but it was probably gone since it was 10PM.

When he got to sporting goods, nobody was around and the stocking pallets were gone.

He stood around awhile and decided to look behind the counter and what do you know...

A whole case of 555's under the counter lol.

He called customer service and made them open it and sell him 3.

Not all the same

I was in Parker, Colorado a couple weeks ago and wandered into Walmart just to see what they had for ammo.
What I found was a big screen T.V. over the ammo counter. The screen said WHEN the next truck was due in, it listed WHAT ammo was coming in that day, right down to calibers and how many boxes of each. Then is listed the exact TIME that they would start selling from the listed delivery.
I WISH ALL WALMARTS WERE THE SAME AS THAT ONE.

well I DONT HAVE a fancy phone with apps so wheres the website app for me to use my desktop to get the same info?

why prevent not apple I-pod users from getting the same info?

The sporting goods guy at our local Wal Mart said they get a delivery every night. He doesn't know in advance what if any ammo will be on the delivery.

He says he checks every morning when he arrives around 7 to see if there is any ammo in the back room, and if so brings it out.

The store greatly expanded the self space for ammo recently.

Or course, that's all it is: shelf SPACE, but not much ammo.

The two things they have had in stock all winter have been 243 and 270 Winchester. Not even any 30-06 for a long time.

When the delivery truck hits the unloading dock, the manifest from that truck is loaded into the stores inventory system. If the app states " in stock " it means that they are getting at least a case of whatever. If it states " limited availability ", they are getting something less than a full case, ie: one or two boxes. One of our local stores has gone to a number system. To keep your number in line, they require you to stay within the sporting goods section. Its that competitive, most days there are between 10 - 15 people with numbers. Good news is that they have been getting alot of ammo. All calibers and brands. They also have benn getting 4-6 AR's every week too. The prices for AR's locally has gone way down since you can get them at Walmart prices. The bubba's who bought $2000 guns at the start of this mess, are unloading them for $1300-$1500, too bad they are still cheaper at Walmart and no one is buying on the local internet classifieds.

No walmarts in my area sell any ammo. I have to drive 10 miles past work, which is 30 past my house, to a walmart that does sell ammo. I was there 2 weeks ago and all they had was 270, 243, 300 and 7mm win mag

I do believe I saw 2 large tables worth of Walmart ammo today at a gun show. Lots and lots of Federal and Winchester brand in many popular calibers. Seller was a new face, maybe a wally employee, who knows. Ammo was all he was selling, and lots of it, had boxes full under the tables too.

My local Wal Mart doesnt stay open 24 hours. Using the app I saw that some .22 ammo was listed as "In stock". The store opens the doors at 0600, I was there at 0530, there was a line waiting at the front door.
One of the guys had been waiting at the door since 0200!
By the time I got to the counter, it was all gone.

The spam thing at my local store, no ammo of any kind. I wrote to the corporate hq's and got a response that is was a local decision. The local manager has not returned my request.

FYI, there is a Dick's down the street that sells ammo.

Sorry dude. It used to be possible to check on the website, but they have changed it. Now you can't check on ammo on the website.
