For some reason this year I have been getting email advertisements from lots of stores, and most I don't want. Wasn't there a law passed several years ago that every email advertisement had to have an"UNSCRIBE" capability on the front page of the add? Most have had this, but several have not.

The ads could be total scams that have no intention of shipping you the merchandise but take your money.
I bought a TV promo product. Usually after I put in the card info I still get to check the total amount before hitting place order. As soon as it had my info it placed the order. Afterward I saw the total was three times the amount it stated.
I did a complaint search on the company, which btw is a major TV ad handler, and I found there were many complaints from buyers that had the same thing happen and they didn't even receive the products untill almost a month later. They got nowhere getting a refund for the ripoff.
I went to my bank the next day to cancel the transaction and was told I would have to get the company to credit me back. I told her they were not going to do anything but take my money and that I found that out in my search on the company. She told me she couldn't cancel the charge. I said then fine I want to cancel my account with you this instant. Oh she had a change of attitude them. She closed that account and opened another account for me.
I got two letters days apart from the company saying something was wrong and they couldn't process my order payment. Sorry suckers were still going after the ripoff charges.

Your not specific, but it seems the card you used was a debit card.
I've always won purchase disputes when I charge using a credit card, and never needed to do more than write a paragraph of explanation.

Thanks Rusty, that's just what I wanted. Item 5, Must inform how to opt out. The email was from a well known Sportsmans Warehouse that I had ordered from about a year ago. I filed a complaint with them.

Clicking "unsubscribe" lets them know this is a valid and active email address. You may get dropped from their list, but your email address may then get sold to marketers and you might get flooded with unwanted email.

I used to spend lots of time blocking email addresses, but I found the same ads coming from a different address every time. I now just delete anything that I do not recognize or want.

I've had to opt-out a couple of times with some vendors to get the job done, but I've always eventually made it. Don't know if I've ever received an unsolicited email without an opt-out link.

We have two places where I have a computer set up - NC and WI and receive emails at both locations. I have discovered that there is a big difference between the amount of unsolicited emails I received in each location. In NC, internet provider is Centurylink while in WI, it is Spectrum. I have the same email address at both locations as my email provider is earthlink. When I'm in NC I get over 100 junk emails a day but when I'm in WI, the number is less than 30-40. Some how Spectrum eliminates a lot of the junk Centurylink passes on.

I get some e-mail junk ads from companies. I don't even open them.

It takes two (at most) mouse clicks to make them disappear, even when doing a mass delete. Takes a few seconds, maybe even a whole minute.

Problem solved, case dismissed.
