I'm tired of inflated prices, non availability, reading about the evil black guns and all the media bs. Luckily, I had what I needed for everything before hand and only grabbed a couple of xtras before things got crazy !!

IS IT BEER TIME ?

I'm thinking it is time to just check out for awhile, and let things settle down. All the local gun stores and internet stores are either out of what I'd like, or the prices are so high that I would never pay that price. One local shop has a Rock River Arms AR-15 with a few extras (quad handrail, upgraded butt stock), and a sticker price of $3250 -- at least twice the price of what it would have fetched a few months ago. They also have an FN SCAR 17S for $4500. Both those have been gathering dust for a few weeks, but no doubt someone will come along and decide they have to buy, especially if they do not own an "assault rifle" currently.

Now for those just getting their first 15-22 (or any firearm), and pulling their hair our trying to find magazines and ammo, I empathize with you. I bought my AR-15 the day after BHO was elected the first time, and things got crazy for awhile, but I am afraid we are in for a longer and tougher drought, and hopefully the efforts for ban will stall.

I feel like I am OK for now, but like many, I worry that the ban could see the light of day. Or, the continued threat just keeps prices high and supply low. I hope that I can acquire a few more things from my Wish List before it becomes a Fantasy List.

I bought my last Colt Shorty in '86. It was my 3rd. Had a few AKs and sold all but the 74 & the shorty. Frankly, with the cost of ammo, and all the rest of it, I'm thinking of just staying with the reasonable to shoot stuff. I enjoy the 22s and .17s and being 68, maybe it's time.

Sad part is the gun dealers/manufactures/sporting good stores are getting a kick in the *** out of our dilemma. I am going to remember the folks that didn't try to KY us and give 'em my business afterit is over. Dont mind 'em making a few buck more but out and out trying to ream us is unforgivable.
oh, on edit: beer in AZ where we spend the winter is $4 a thirty pack less than CO. LUV IT!

It's time to buy the stuff that hasn't gone crazy in terms of availability and pricing.

Range bags, slings, rails, optics, mounts, targets, targets stands, shot timers, shooting mats, loading tools, cleaning supplies, assembly/disassembly tools, etc.

I sold 4x 30 round PMAGs and 3x 17 round Glock magazines and used the money to buy a Leupold scope, Ultiamk mount, and rings for my Garand, for example. And I just ordered that big load-out bag somebody linked. Eyeing a sling and mounts for my 15-22 now.

Luckily my LGS isn't gouging anyone... They are selling AR's at regular prices. I went in yesterday and they have the S&W m&p 15 Sportster for $749 and the "T" version for $1249.

Their prices are high if $749 is their regular old price for a Sport.

BUT, right now, that's a ridiculously good price that makes me think they ended up out of stock not long after you left.

Not mine, he pulled all Higher and standard capacity mags and sold them on GB...
All of his Paramilitary rifles... (the CORRECT term for Black Rifles) or "assault rifles" which is a heinously incorrect term... were and still are adjusted on a daily basis as to what they are priced at and will sell for ...

Black rifles.

If it's black, it's paramilitary?

I don't think I have ever heard that term used this way before. I was hoping for some more specific information/explanation/definition, or something.
