Is it true...Airweights are constantly breaking studs?

I've got two 642s, one of 'em for about a decade, the other for about a year, and both of 'em have shot lots of .38 Special+P loads, with no hammer stud (or other) breakages at all. The older one has some peeling of the backstrap clear-coat, but hey, it's a pocket gun.

Does your recent one have the lock? All the ones I have read with a problem are the 642-1.
