Is the 9C the Next Gen 3913

I'd say the Shield in the next 3913. The 9c is more like the 6904.

Please don't ever compare a 3913 or other 3rd. Gens. with the plastic **** with MIM barrels they make now days. The only thing similiar is the caliber and the size.

I've got to agree with HCH. There is no comparison between the new plastic guns and the SW 3rd gens. The 3rd gens were made with quality, the plastic guns with quantity.

It has become evident that there won't be another 3913 from the current company calling itself S&W.

No manufacturer has made anything as nice as the 39XX series. The closest thing out there to a 3913 is a Sig 239. Even that is a little thicker and heavier though.

Those ugly striker fired plastic guns with the lousy triggers and droopy dustcovers? Not even close. Regards 18DAI

MIM barrels? Never heard that one, but there's much I've never heard.

The M&P 9c is nearly the same size as the 3913.
Fully loaded the 3913 weighs 2 ounces less (on my scale). But the M&Pc carries 4 more rounds.
They have both been flawless for me.
The trigger in the 3913 is much better.
The grip is longer on the 3913 and a bit nicer to hold.
They both conceal easily.
They both disassemble easily.
They both shoot good groups.

If I had to choose I'd keep the 3913 because it's all metal and hammer fired, although the M&P's have been known to go through some pretty nasty torture tests and come through shining.

I have both because I hate to choose!
