Is the community .22lr finish reamer still being loaned around?

Do you think the guys at S&W know that there a community reamer being passed around?

Because if they don't know how bad their 22 revolver are, they should be made aware. And if they do know, and I'm pretty sure they do, and they continue to sell revolvers that don't work correctly; That's a company I don't want to do business with.

I have a 617. But I'll never have another.

Well, FWIW, S&W 22LR cylinders that are cut to MINIMUM dimensions is a well known issue. That has been a "thing" as long as S&W has been producing 22LR revolvers AFAIK.

For whatever reason S&W chooses to continue boring the cylinders of their 22LR revolvers to the MINIMUM rather than MAXIMUM dimension.

It is what it is. A quick 15 minutes with a reamer could make your 617 one of your favorites. JMO, and YMMV...

S&W continues to do a lot of things I don't understand. As far as their chamber dimensions are concerned, they have always been too tight in their 22 LR line up.

I just looked at the current pricing (at Brownell's) of a Manson 22 LR chamber finish reamer and was blown away! Last I knew they were less than half of what they are selling for now! WOW!!

Yeah, it is really funny how our current "inflation rates" of ONLY 7%-8% have resulted in just about everything costing twice as much as it did just 4-5 years ago! Weird, huh?

Anyways, that is why I am trying to track down the current location of the S&W Forum "community reamer" - rather than just buying one for myself...
