IS this 29-2 6'' worth $1325 ??

In my opinion, it is definitely too high for that gun. It's in very nice condition, with all the goodies, but there is no doubt that it's been fired. You could hold out and find a LNIB example for less than what that one went for. I could see (maybe) around $1,000, but not $1,325...

It looks like a newbie escalated the bid price, and the bid winner just wanted that gun. In theory, the gun is worth what was paid; it was an auction. I'm not sure about all this 'shill' bidder stuff, but you never know... Even so, the guy that bought it still thought it was worth what he paid, and he's got a lot of feedback, so he's not a newbie...

I think it's a sign of pricing to come... As a lot of people have said, when you look at what S&W is getting for their new revolvers, you can see why the older ones in good condition are bringing in the high prices; they do not make em like that anymore... But, I still think this bidder could have done much better by waiting for a better deal.

I hope these buyers are around when I start to divest....

BTW, that's a re-tagged box and where's the Presentation Case?....

Good point, should be a case, and that label definitely looks bad... I hope Doug Wilson was just buying it for the gun...

Really good point, I missed that. That would definitely affect the value of the gun.

Mr. Wilson evidently thought so.

N771 is a 1981 gun ,,not even that old. The grips are warped and need attention.
I'd estimate this is a $700. package with all the 'questionables'.

Good pictures sell a gun. Just ask Joe ,of 'Joe N'Deb" on gun broker.

Maybe these revolvers are tomorrows "Gold standard" who knows?

The front sight looks especially nasty-typical for guns of that time period when Smith thought it would be a good idea to make the entire front sight assembly an integral part of the barrel.

I don't think so, plenty of guns to buy when the economy is soft. Many are selling guns off to pay their rent.

That gun is worth $1000 IMHO.
