It's entirely up to you and what you need versus what you can get. Generally speaking, in today's market, it's not an even trade.

Hmmm....I don't care for RP cases so maybe this is a way I could get rid of them. I have them segregated and generally don't load them.

If you need the .357 cases and you didn't pay .50 cents a piece for the primers I'd do it in a heartbeat. In normal times it would be fair.

If you have a good supply of SP primers in stock and lack 357 cases, then yes, it's probably worth trading.

Which end of this trade are you? Do you need primers or .357 brass?

Asking for a friend. :)

I have a pound of WW 296 my wife bought by mistake and it looks like the only way I can use it will be by loading .357 mag. So I am in need of .357 casings. The reason I want to trade my brand new factory primed .38 special RP brass is although primers have to ship haz-mat, primed brass does not.

Here in the Spokane, WA/Cour d' Alane, ID area, we are trading 2lbs of powder for 1K primers or 1lb of powder for 500 primers. It's just what you need to do, to get what you need. Seems to be working well for us here.

Why don't you just place an ad for .357 brass? Primers are precious--hang on to what you've got.

Not too long ago I couldn't find .357 brass in stock anywhere I looked.

I have buckets of new and once fired .38 Special brass and would have easily traded 50 primed .38 Spec for the Magnum cases.

I placed several Magnum on backorder. It took a while, but I got them all! Then I found 300 in plain white boxes that I had the entire time.
