Anybody else get this recently? Is it legit? (I'd call SSA but last time I did that I was on hold for close to an hour.)

You can wait but they say 55 million folks need to be ".gov financial oversight account compliant" before a certain future date. It'll get hectic at some point. My bank did similar as did another financial institution I have an account with. It's for our security dont'cha know. Joe

Just completed the new sign in rigamarole. Took me 15- 20 minutes or so. Will need to do for my wife next.

I tried sometime last year to create a Login.gov account. Wasted a lot of time, no success, so I gave up. Maybe they have changed the procedure for the better by now.

Been using the login.gov account for a year or more now. It was suggested a while back on my SSA account.

I already have a login.gov access because the Office Of Personnel Management (OPM) migrated to login.gov a couple of years ago, so I use it to look at my Civil Service annuity information. Now Social Security is sending me a letter with an activation code or pin so I can use login.gov to access SSN information. I don't know about you guys, but I grew up in the 60's without computers and I've had to adapt here in the 21st centruy to everything done on line. It's kind of a pain to keep up with all these passwords for my retirement income. Social Security is changing their way of login, DFAS-My Pay makes me change my passwords every six months or so to look at my military retirement, and OPM has their own rules for ID and Password. I'm keeping up with it, but barely. There has to be a easier and better way to access and authenticate ID securely and safely. I'm sick of all these passwords and changes.

Anything online or on phone get dumped. Show me the money in my monthly check and I’ll be happy. I just got a letter from my Local 449 Steamfitters pension. Those still working are getting a .01 per hour increase in their retirement benefits multiplier per hour because of their “wonderful” investments. We poor fixed income retirees will get a lousy $1500 one time bonus August 2nd. I would rather have a COLA. I went and told my young beautiful wife. Dammit! I’m not sure how the math works out, but I think I’m getting turned righty tighty. I’ll have to check the Guns For Sale section here! Now, if the PA state teachers pensions get a COLA, now we’re talking!
