"For a long time, I and many others have been telling gun owners that the left-wing anti-gun crowd’s true goal is the confiscation of all firearms. The Democratic Debate showed their true intentions for all to see. I still get pushback from people saying they would never do that. Well yeah, they would and will if they can get a foot in the door. Beto O’Rourke was kind enough to verify that and even propose it in the Democratic Debate. Beto is selling T-Shirts, tank tops and hoodies that say as much to fund his campaign.
They will piecemeal the process. They will start with semiautomatics and then go to high power rifles and, of course, pistols. It will be to siren song about trying to save lives. It won’t save lives from criminal activity. What it will prevent is the 2 to 3 million times each year that law-abiding citizens save their own life or the lives of other innocent people. Sometimes I think these Dunderheads work for the gangbangers and gangs.
I have been watching discussion after discussion about gun control on seemingly endless television shows. Some of these people sit around having polite conversations about gnawing away at our Second Amendment Rights like they are at a garden club tea debating which color of red rose is the most beautiful. None of what they are talking about has anything to do with stopping criminals and everything to do with attacking law-abiding citizens. Just so everyone understands: we aren’t the garden club.
Sales of firearms have been somewhat sluggish most of the year but in August, that changed. Handgun sales are up 19.8% and overall sales are up 15.8%. The attacks on gun owner’s rights are undoubtedly driving part of this.
It is nice to see the NRA going after San Francisco. I thought the NRA might be getting out of the lawsuit but now I understand they are completing the lawsuits they are already involved in. Great!
We have been receiving calls regarding the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act. The link to the proposed rules can be found HERE. Next week, we will have instructions on how to comment on the rules.
Senator Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield) has told everyone that she intends to call SB 1966 in either the 1st Veto Session or 2nd Veto Session. The 1st Veto Session is scheduled for October 28th, 29th and 30th; the 2nd Veto Session is scheduled for November 12th, 13th and 14th. "
