I can’t believe the attacks on the police in Chicago. They were ambushed by a huge mob throwing bricks, frozen water bottles, sharpened “protest” banner poles, etc. that were previously stockpiled.
A few were severely injured.
I think it’s past time we of the silent majority stepped up and back up the police to stop this madness.
We can protest the companies that are boycotting any organizations that don’t walk their line by not spending our money for their products anymore. I think I’m done with sports this year.
They’ve strayed way beyond their purpose of entertaining us.
If we don’t start being more vocal and counter protesting with our wallets, we may lose that opportunity soon. It may be too late for that already.
It’s like watching a friggin train wreck and I’m getting tired of it.
Rant over for now, and I’ll risk the points to be able to vent.

Agree, but those police don't need defending by the silent majority. They're out there by choice. They need to decide if their life is worth defending a city that considers you the enemy, and then relocate to a more civil area. The cities are beyond help at this point. The silent majority needs to concentrate on defending their property, their family, and neighborhood. The savages haven't tasted deadly force yet.

I agree. I’d sure like to turn this around before they taste that deadly force.
If someone flips that switch it will get ugly. I do believe it will end quickly if that happens, but there’s got to be a better way.
You know, if my dog peed on the carpet I wouldn’t just ignore it and say “ good boy, but don’t do it again, ok?”
He’s going to get punished for it so he learns it’s not acceptable behavior.
I really don’t want to shoot him because of it though.
If he attacks me? Different punishment

Yes they chose the profession but there is no way they can survive an onslaught of thousands of people with no backing from above.
If they don’t have that backing, it better come from somewhere or else we’re all in for it.
I’m not ready to give squat to these people. These are our cities, not some Marxist wanna be’s. If they want Marxism there’s plenty of cities in Russia they can move to.

Liberal governor, liberal mayor and a demoralized police department. What could possibly go wrong?

Let’s not lean political. I’m talking about social ills and I realize that it’s a very fine line between them but there is a line.
I may have crossed it myself with my Marxist comments but I don’t recognize them as a political body, but more of a dying body.

This is a blog by a Chicago PO. Something like 40 officers hurt, 16 hospitalized in this Christopher Columbus attack.. One Sargent will probably lose an eye. These riots are being organized and executed by left wing agitators with a lot of money behind them. But we all know that. Rioters pushed shopping carts full of bricks and frozen water bottles thru the crowd supplying them with stuff to throw at cops. It's not raining they use umbrellas to hide there faces and arm themselves. Rioters sharpened the ends of pvc pipes to stab at officers. Police are afraid to use horses because rioters may stab them.
Tab down to a topic labeled "This is peaceful" and open link. If you've got the time read the whole blog.

They're out there by choice.

But, when did they make that choice?

I imagine that fewer qualified applicants are applying for L/E positions today, and many qualified mid-career officers are leaving or actively looking for other employment. Many who are able to are retiring in ever increasing numbers. I know two officers who just reached minimum age and years of service who have put in their papers. Both had planned to hang around a few years longer, but wisely decided not to put up with the Bravo Sierra any longer.

As long as the "leadership" of those big cities ties the hands of the police this will continue and get progressively worse.

The police need to be able to respond in a forceful manner. That would end it.

Those "protestors" are cowards who only do this because they know the police aren't allowed to fight back. The police have the means to stop it they just need permission.

How is it that thrown bricks and such aren't considered deadly force attacks? They should be met with deadly force countermeasures.

I’m concerned about the answer to that one

As I and everyone I know, mostly old men, are also worried. Each and every one of us, in our own way has decided we will not be bullied or made to feel guilt because we did our best to live up to our commitments to family and self.
I am truly afraid that sometime soon The Line, whatever, that may be will Be Crossed, and people, perhaps in large numbers are going to be hurt.

Yup, agreed. This about sums up my feelings on Chicago:
