I doubt if any of today's "protesters" know a lot about the Kent State events of 1970. If it happened then, it could happen now.

What is happening is very sad and it’s not right for the police to have to put up with this. These Chiefs and Commissioners need to grow a set and go up against the powers to be to start stopping this. If not,hand them the badge and the gun and tell them to go deal with it. These Mayors and town councils need to be put in their places for allowing this. Quit pandering to these sphincter hats and quit playing politics.
If the police start doing what they have to do what are they going to do arrest them? Who would stop them. I realize this is a slippery slope but it needs to be stopped.
I could never be a police officer, have someone throw things at me, spit at me and try to take a swipe at me without busting heads and this my friends is what needs to happen!

the first officers to walk should be the "security details" with a goodbye handshake and a good luck... hopefully in a sketchy neighborhood.

Parts of cities have been occupied. Businesses and entire city blocks have been looted and burned. Senior citizens have been weight-layed and beaten on the sidewalk. Neighborhoods have been invaded. Police officers have been abused, physically attacked, ambushed, and executed.

Because it's a waste of perfectly good water. 165 grains of lead would be a much better choice. You get hit with water, you dry up and go back for more. Get hit with lead and I guarantee you they won't come back the next day.

You can rest assured the Marxists are not going away, no matter how the elections turn out.
They will win in the end, because the changing demographics do not favor those of us who believe the Constitution means what it says, and want to keep our traditions and liberty.
I wil do what I can to forestall total socialist rule while I am of sound mind and body, but I am old, and what I am seeing and hearing from most of the under 35 crowd does not bode well for our republic.
I think every big city Mayor's biggest fear is that

I don't foresee the Marxists winning in the end, but I do foresee the likelihood of armed confrontation in the fairly near future.
Unfortunately for the rioters and their supporters, the cities are fragile- rural areas aren't and the under 35 demographic in the countryside doesn't have the same outlook as the woke urban yupsters.
Won't be pretty.
These demonstrations have nothing to do with Marxists or Marxism. Whoever said demographics hit the nail on the head. For those who will come out on the short end of the demographic stick, it is about racial fear. The real threat to our freedoms comes from those who, out of that fear, would impose a fascist dystopia. For the big machers at the top, nothing really matters except the availability of cheap labor, by hook or by crook.

Not in Chicago. They were taking potshots at firemen in the North Side a couple of weeks ago.
I think you have that somewhat backward. It's a well funded attempt to destabilize the Republic- paid for by Marxists and their various dupes. I don't think it's really racially motivated, although that's the flag they're presently flying.

You can't win a fight with one hand tied behind your back. Take the gloves off or go home. The first LEOS to walk should be the political security details.
They are just practising for later in the summer when the really big riots will happen. They will force the President to make a declaration of martial law. Just think what the people's mood will be when they go the polls under a decree of martial law.

The application of force is always brutal. The longer the good side waits, the better, not in a practical sense, but better in the moral sense. The chaos and those who support it are looking less and less "good" with every passing day. Soon the offer of help to those communities in chaos will be accepted. I do not know how that will "look", but I hope order will prevail quickly.
Optimism: I walk my dogs a lot! We live by trail heads in an elite liberal town. Today the Boys wanted to walk through the neighborhood. I saw more American flags out than I have ever seen in my town (other than the 4th of July). I smiled a lot.
