It looks like Fed EX lost my holster

The package arrived fine yesterday.:)
Thank you for all the comments.

The Ravine incident happened in the weeks leading up to last Thanksgiving.
This needs to be said, Many Fed Ex employees, some from out of state came and gathered the up packages on Thanksgiving Day.

Over 450 packages were dumped in the woods. This was in Blount County Alabama in the Hayden area.

Again, my package arrived safe and sound.

I feel the following is good advice.
If you are shipping multiple valuable pieces. It's a good idea to label each piece with a return address and or shipping info in case the package fails and it become loose.

Also package your item like it is literally going to be shot out of a cannon because it pretty much is. Most shipping fails can be blamed on poor packaging.

So, if I have this correct, you launched a diatribe on the 11th, and got your package on the 12th . . .

Smoke, if a third party driver is responsible for my package being lost then yes FedEx lost my package. He is operating on their behalf and paid by them. I’ve worked in the transportation industry since 1989. A third party carrier is held to the same standard as a company driver.

Does anyone have a delivery story that went well? I can't recall a single instance where a personal delivery went off the rails for me other than perhaps being a day late. I have had very satisfactory delivery from all entities mentioned, perhaps just lucky? Rather amazing to me based upon their daily volume. Apparently item has been delivered. I usually wait a few days before hitting the panic button.

As I posted, my weird delivery was my coffee pot thrown into my neighbors
Backyard.

I guess I'm just lucky.
I've been working on my old pickup and have spent $1000s over the past few months.
The suppliers that I have been mostly buying from are Rock Auto, LMC Truck and Summit Racing. All three ship FedEx.
Every order, every part delivered on time.

I don’t have one specifically for me that went wrong, and there’s no newsworthy event in “Nothing to see here . . .”

My son has one that kinda went bad, but then turned out okay. Very long story short, my mother, with his help, ordered two unique soccer jerseys for him in early November, to be a Christmas gift. They did not arrive, and tracking disappeared as I recall after they departed the Earth City, MO UPS hub, about two hours north of us, before Thanksgiving.

As I mentioned, they were unique, and by the middle of December when we resolved it, the company no long had the jerseys in stock. Mom’s credit card was credited back, and she bought an alternate gift, or gave cash. I forget.

The package arrived in March. With tire marks on the outer package and it all held together with clear packing tape. The company was uninterested in unrefunding our money, and they wished us well.

I’m not sure where that falls, but it’s certainly the only time I’ve ever called anyone’s customer service over a shipping issue. And I get a lot of stuff shipped to me . . .

I have a UPS failed story. I paid the most expensive service "next day by 10am". I'm waiting at the door starting 9am anticipating the package. Driver shows up until 4pm (his usual delivery time for our area). I asked him my package was "next day by 10am" what happen? He says (don't give a **** mannerism) we put all packages together for one day and deliver once no matter what service was purchased. So what's the point to offer that service then? He had zero answer. I called the supervisor, he had no answer either. Basically I got ripped off paying for premium service. And both of them never ever offer a refund or credit. They sure was very friendly when paying for the most expensive and fastest service tho.

Never again!

Ordered some Silver from APMEX.
They are just down the road up in OK City.
They pay the postage so they pick the Piper.
They start with UPS who passes off to the USPO.
Then the PO does a direct delivery to your house, not your regular Carrier.
So my $1,200 bag of Silver is in limbo.
UPS say we passed it to PO, PO say we don’t have your CS Silver!
This went on for about a week.
When I ‘discussed’ with the Oakies, they didn’t seem to be that concerned.
Then as by Magic, the UPS suddenly has my Silver!
I am rewarded with a ring and run.
$1,200 of silver on my front stoop, doorbell rings, Guy in Brown Runs.

Hey Pilgrim. I’ve always been interested in precious metals but never bought any. But with inflation going the way it is I’m strongly considering it. Plus it just seems kinda cool. Do u buy coins or bars? Is one easier to buy / sell than the other?

Bald1 - have mostly bought Silver.
The price has been crashing, so spot is down. The Gorilla in the room is the Premium. Usually less for generics, goes down as size increases.
Have bought Rounds, these are 1 Ounce generics , made by various firms.
Bought a Tube of 20 Buffaloes just the other day.
Have bought 1, 10, and 50 Ounce Bars.
Love the US Eagles, made by the US Mint.
Do not love the premium!
Like the Canadian Maples, lower premium,
Like the Mexican Libertads, also high premium.
Love me some 90% US Circulated, hate it when they call it Junk,
Also Hate the Premium.
What’s high?
Looking at the APMEX site. Spot is $18.71.
2022 American Eagle , buy 1-19, price depends on how you pay, low number is $33.70, minus $18.71= $14.99 premium!
Lately I’ve been buying from a local shop.
He about the same price as the online folks without the suspense of the shipping and delivery. The downside would be he don’t have the inventory that a Mega online dealer has. You kind of have to buy what he’s got.
That how I got the 2- 50 oz Silver Bars.
‘I’m low on Rounds. How bout a 50?’ ‘I don’t have one.
Might as well buy one.’
‘Too wet to plow, and I don’t know how to dance.’
Haven’t sold anything, but when I’m in his store he’s buying all the time.

Ok.

I wasn't a FedEx employee and I'm not an expert on Fedex Policy. I'm just telling you what I saw at one location.

The night I hung up my boots at Fedex

(Literally and I bet they're still there)

was two Days after the FedEx shooting in Indiana. one of the employees at my site showed up out of uniform, without his ID and they got butt-hurt because I asked the FedEx supervisor before letting them in. Draw your own conclusions

I’ve only had one glitch in a delivery.

I returned a Sig P320 to the factory for the trigger upgrade. They shipped it back via Fedex and I got a notice it was out for delivery and needed an adult signature. I was at work but my daughter-in-law was home and on the lookout.

A while later Randy the rottweiler went into full somebody-approaches-the-castle roar. My DIL puts him up and opens the door just as the Fedex guy is getting back in the truck. She waves, he waves back and drives off with my Sig.

I get a notification that I have to pick up my package at the Fedex office. No biggie - that’s where I dropped it off. I tell the lady the above story and she says: Oh that’s Jerry. Jerry got bit once. Jerry doesn’t do dogs.

The window has a decorative but strong grate over it, and Randy is the rottweiler model without opposable thumbs so he can’t open the door,
but I get it.

Well, today I had an on time FedEx delivery.
Problem? It was 3 handguns delivered to the brewery down the street about 10 blocks.
West Okoboji Pawn versus WestO Beer. Gal at the brewery signed for it, opened it and realized the error and brought us the package. Thankful for Iowa nice.
I will be contacting FedEx as this could have gone sideways very easily.

From the Washington Post today:

When Jeffrey Merriweather’s body was discovered weeks after a suspected shooting in 2019, the Georgia man’s family hoped the medical examiner’s office could give them some clarity on the 32-year-old’s cause of death. More than three years later, however, Merriweather’s remains are still nowhere to be found after the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office decided to ship them via FedEx to a specialized lab in St. Louis....
