It took me almost five years to find

something proper to put in this old AW Brill holster.

According to the book it is a '46-'47 Vintage Transitional 3rd Model 1926 .44 Military and it is extremely cool!

I believe that gun is too big for the holster. Shouldn't a gun fit dddper in a holster to protect the trigger and guard from being caught on something and going off. Maybe a concealed carry holster??

Love those 3rd model 44's! My 4" fits in a shorter, vintage, similar holster to the same depth. As you say, times were different...

I remember a few years back a new member stated that he would NEVER carry in a holster with an exposed trigger like that one, as it was entirely unsafe. A few of us old fogeys schooled him IIRC.

Interesting stuff. Covered triggers go way back to Old West holsters, so styles must have changed a few times over the years.
