Whats your favorite go to pocket rockets?

Urban Dictionary: pocket rocket
A small caliber pistol that can fit in a person's front pocket.

Without a doubt the first one that comes to mind is the S&W 642! However sadly I sold mine to make ends meet. Im very sad over that...:(

I have to go with what I have currently and they are true winners!

The Beretta Bobcat is a pistol I cant say enough good things about. It is super accurate and its a blast to shoot! No pun intended. Its been very reliable and if you just had to have a pocket gun in 22lr than without a doubt in my mind make it the Bobcat! The only thing I dont like about the Bobcat is I wish Beretta would make the 25acp version again! There is virtually no 25 autos on the market anymore and its sooooo sad very very sad...

Kel Tec never ceases to amaze me. Coming from a traditional classic firearms lover I always stayed away from gimmicky funky too inovative looking guns and for many years KT at first took me as ones of those companies. However I couldnt of been more wrong! George Kellgren is a genius! In my humble opinion he is up there with John Browning. He is still with us and still making guns and he is probably my favorite gun designer of all time. The P-32 is one of those lovely pocket rockets that can always be there when you need it in any kind of place and in any kind of attire possible. Its the perfect summer time fun gun. Most pocket pistols you carry often and shoot less but the 32 acp is a lot of fun popping cans on the range. Its actually quite pleasing to shoot the little 32 acp on the range with this gun. The P-32 is probably the most reliable lightest auto pistol in the world! The only thing I dont like is once again I wish they made more 32 acp pocket pistols. Its a wonderful caliber except for the dreaded rim lock issue but I stay away from HPs and I think you will never have that problem.

I would of never guessed in a million years that these 2 crazy little micro pistols would of ended up being the most lovely and fun guns to ever own! I highly recommend these two!

P-32 ammo recommendations:

-Underwood Ammo .32 ACP +P 55 Grain Solid
-Fiocchi 32ACP 73 Grain Full Metal Jacket
(two of the best for range and self defense)

Beretta Bobcat:

-CCI mini mags
(the go too)

If any of you have ammo recommendations give me a shout! Post your replies. Thanks!

I really want a COP 357 derringer. Sadly it came out and vanished before my time.

They were during my time. The Pepper Box is an Idea that should be great. The COP were NOTORIOUS instead of famous! The worst problem they were notorious for was only shooting one shot and not rotating to the next. The were kind of heavy. and if you think a J-Frame has limited shots, The COP was at best 4 without speed loaders (Speed strips came out around the same time and were unproven.) Lastly, they were relatively expensive for the times.

sorry about your bubble.

I have a Berretta Tom Cat (3032) That usually get carried on my ankle. My every day carry is a refinished Model 49 (no-dash). Before model numbers the Name was "Bodyguard" the term of affection by owners is "Humpback". I also have a Model 36, Model 12-2 3", Model 15 2", a Colt Cobra all in 38 Special. A number of Derringers including American Derringers 357 mag (barrels shoot 17" apart a 20'), American Derringer's double action 38 Special (looks like a big High Standard 22 Mag model), a large stack of Davis 22 & 32 derringers.

I don't think of it as a Pocket Rocket, but more like a "Pocket full of Fun!", a model 629-10 PC (a 2 5/8" 44 mag), but most pants are skimping on suitable pockets these days.

I have both of the OP’s caliber choices in the Seecamp version. Carried the .25 and then the .32 as backup gun in a back pocket. My wife has a .25 also. She also has her Browning .25
I wouldn’t mind getting one of the Beretta .22s. I had the .22 short version but traded it to Larry Seecamp for my first .25

While I knew exactly what he meant, can't help wishing that the original poster had not used that term. Like Saturday night special and cop killer bullet, Pocket rocket is a term glomed on to by the anti-gunners, to define a type of gun that is evil and therefore scary. I myself do not use their terms.

I have both a 642 and a humpback. I believe I have a bobcat - 950 BS in 25. I have an American Derringer in 45 ACP, but I certainly would not carry that for self-defense if I had anything else available. Clumsy, awkward, slow to shoot, only holds two. Closer to a range toy than to defensive weaponry.

Don’t have them any more, but the Beretta 950 was an outstanding pocket gun; and the NAA mini pretty cool.

The High Standard derringer gets think-outside-the-box points, but I thought it was awful in practice. Had to use my 2nd finger on the trigger!

I've always thought the term "pocket rocket," when referring to firearms, meant a powerful handgun that would fit in one's pocket. In my case, e.g., a 640-1 (.357 mag.)

And I thought the proper term for the smaller caliber handguns that would fit in one's pocket was "mouse gun."

Not that it makes any difference, I suppose. "A rose by any other name..."

My Mk1.5 Ruger LCP takes some beating. I also have a no-name Ruby in .25 ACP that seems to work, although it weighs a ton for what it is.

I saw a COP a while back and I remembered what I thought the first time I handled one, “dang this thing is heavy”. It feels like it weighs more than two airweight J frames with only %40 of the firepower. Long heavy staple gun esq trigger too. Cool novelty from a time gone by though.

I most often pocket carry a M36 or a 2” M10-5 as long as I’m wearing pants with a belt. Shorts and slip on shoes in the summer I’m more likely to slip my old High Standard D101 in my front pocket.

My wife has an S&W Escort and an LCP. Neither of which is any great fighting pistol but at least she’ll carry something.

It's not a 25 ACP nor a 22 lr - a little smaller than the Baby Browning. Bernardelli in 22 Long.

Thought I'd also post the original "pocket pistol" too. If you miss I suppose disappearing behind the cloud of smoke would be a good back up plan.
