Been on my list for years. I needed a .22 and I've wanted a gun close to an 1894 so I solved both problems today and got a Henry H001. I bored sighted with a laser and feel like I'm ready to shoot quills off a porcupine.

I haven't the need for another lever .22, but I do like the Henry's I've handled. Someday I'll get to shoot one at the range and know for sure, but I don't think I would regret buying one if I was in the market. They are a handy little rifle.

I can't recall shooting a lever gun that wasn't a tight shooter. I've got 2 Marlin 39's, a model 56, an 1894 and... Here me out now, an Ithaca model 49 single shot lever rifle. All of which are amazing shooters. Honestly the Ithaca is one of my favorites to shoot out of all of them, it's unexplainable but it is amazingly accurate and a blast. Congrats on the Henry, I've always heard great things about them as well!

I tapped on my windage just a hair.....

Shooting about 1/2" right at 10 yards. There isn't much of a way to index how much the the dovetail moved, so I guess I'll just take my tools to the field.

I was able to measure my SKS with a caliper and got that first try. I think I'll retrofit MOA clicking knobs on all of my iron sighted guns.

Love the 22 levers myself. A marlin 1894 22 mag would be a great score. Made around 12,000 I read.

Oh, you're gonna like that gun. I found a lightly used H001T on the rack at a LGS a few years back, and immediately knew it had to come home with me as soon as I worked the action the first time. Slick as slick can be.

I did have to drift the rear sight to get it centered at 25 yards - it was off to the right by about 3-4" - but I didn't buy it for pinpoint accuracy. That's what all the scoped 22s are for. I bought it to return to simpler times, at least in my mind, and just have fun shooting it. Everyone loves shooting that Henry. Some days, after somewhat focused shooting at paper target bullseyes, we just take turns shooting it as fast as we can at those dangerous paper plate targets.

I also keep it around as a reminder that, with open sights, I'm not really as good as I think I am. Keeps me humble. Sort of.
