I been jones'n to get another S&W N frame. My dealer has the S&W M57 4'' 41mag in nickel for $699 new and a S&W M29 6 1/2'' 44mag in nickel for $999 also. I think his prices are fair.

I'm torn between the two and want both. I just shot my new S&W m58 4'' barrel in 41mag and it handles awesome. Its the first N frame i have ever shot.

I have mainly ruger BH's, redhawks and security sixes so far. Now i'm interested in the nickel finish and the N frames are the only ones offered now.

If the M57 is in excellent shape and I already was committed to the caliber from my M58, I'd jump all over it at that price for a 4in. nickle. IMO the M29 price is a bit high.

The M57 is brand new at the dealer as is the m29 in nickel too. I have no clue why the 41mag never caught on its an awesome caliber.

I love N-frame February. My vote, get the .44, you may need ammo quick, and God forbid, you might have to go to Wal-Mart. They don't carry .41.

Hey BigBill you're right. In fact I just purchased a nice 629-5 with a 4" barrel. Used, but in great condition. I plan on taking a little trip up into the woods this weekend for some shooting. It's going be a great camping/woods/trail gun !!

I have a 29-2 8 3/8" nickel which I love to shoot. It loves the speer LSWC with light loads for plinking. Every so often I shoot some heat with jacketed bullets. A great piece. I also have another N frame model 27-2 8 3/8" another great piece.

Bill-
It sounds like you are talking about the Classic series guns.

Personally, I would go this route first. It WILL hold value, and older is cooler anyway!
