So I have been moving some non S&W guns to fund a new 442-1 to take advantage of the rebate
So I did some inventory and this is what I have left

60 no dash
36 no dash
10-7 square butt 2”
637-2
442-1 I pick up today
I do have a 4” 19-3 and 4” 19-5
but all the rest are snubs

The 10-7 I got off the forum and it appears unfired - no turn line or any marks on the shield. It has crisp lettering and a case colored hammer and trigger. The finish is duller blue then my 19-3 and 19-5. It has some shine to it but definitely more subdued
Serial number is ABF6743.

I was at a gun show recently and there was a 4” blued model 10-7 with a similar subdued blueing.

Did the factory offer a subdued or dulled blueing option for Model 10s?

I think that was more due to a change made to the bluing process about that time, to me it's really noticeable in the 19's, the difference between dash 3 and dash 4 and later.

You could use a polish like flitz to cut some of the rust brown off the finish, that may help, but there's nothing like the early blue

Does your -5 and -3 M19s look different than each other ?

Ha yes it does
The 19-5 is beautiful and has a deep lush blue

The 19-3 had that finish but was a well used service revolver so most of the bluing is worn off and the remainder is a little worn
Not the matte darker blue of the 10-7
Just well used 😁
