My Shield 9mm works as advertised. Super concealment IWB. Extremely accurate @ 7 yds. My sights have not fallen off. I do not drop mags. My slide locks back after last round and slingshots back on new mag. Mags seat perfectly with minimal effort. I love the safety. Crisp trigger brakes around 6 lbs. Great holsters readily available. Night sights, XS Big Dots. and more all ready to purchase and install. IMO, this gun @ $449. is beyond fantastic. Super light and no hesitation to carry as EDC. Anyone else agree?

Yes, yes and yes. I have the Shield in .40cal but agree with you 100%. Put over 500 rounds through mine and never had an issue. I love my Shield!!

I have the same setup with XS Big Dot and after 2 previous disappointments owning a Kahr CM9 and Beretta Nano I also feel very blessed that I have a ccw that I have absolute confidence will operate if a life depended upon it.

That peace of mind is worth more than the fair price I paid for my Shield.

Thank you for sharing your story. I always enjoy happy ever after stories.

Now if S&W could just make kitchen appliances.

I like to see a positive post once in a while:D

Shield 40 here with Big Dots, love it.

Owned almost a year, zero malfunctions. I installed an Apex sear only because I had an extra one handy.

For me it's just a perfect CCW weapon; accurate, reliable, lightweight, small but not too small, and powerful.

What more could you want?

Thinking of blessings check out the Italian gun maker forum under handguns.

Not only is their economy sucking wind so is their ccw.

I am so thankful Cabela's of Utah stepped up after the Italian company wouldn't and traded me straight across for a Shield.

Cabela's has my future business including their credit card which I pay off promptly.

Yup...couldn't agree more. I dig my Shield big time and carry any chance I get. All my Shield "issues" have been user error as to where I place my hands/thumbs. I've had to work diligently on my shooting position so as to eliminate my mag drops or slide not locking after my final round is fired.

Keep shooting and keep that powder dry!

+2

I also have been blessed (so far). My Shield 9 has been good and remains relatively stock with only a Hogue Handall Jr grip added and an application of Froglube. Hope this reply doesn't jinx what I've just said! :)

What was your issue with the CM9? Its my CCW and I have no issues with it at all.

Oh my goodness you are indeed blessed. It always makes me overjoyed when someone purchases a new gun (or anything) & it works as it should right out of the box.

Continue enjoying your blessing & stay safe.

Love both of mine as well. Just waiting on my BigDots from Brownells.

I had Kahr install night sights and after about 50 rounds the front pin sight would break off. After 2 installs breaking off I told Kahr enough and they sent me a check for $550.

I will say Kahr has wonderful customer service. Beretta didn't offer to cut me a check for my Nano after they were unable to fix the FTEs.

I guess 3 is the charm for me after a Kahr and Nano.

Honestly, I don't dare try another sub compact with my track record. Shield works after 1,200 rounds so no need to test the waters for another ccw. Been there done that and it isn't fun especially all the wasted time on the phone explaining why the gun doesn't work and shipping which is a real pain when there is never an adult home to accept a return package.

Russ

P.S. I did learn to use a local shipping store for the return address that could sign for the return. I would recommend if others are faced with warranty work to consider using a business address to return if you don't have an adult home during the day.

Interesting, I was just looking into night sights. Thanks for the heads up.

You may have no problem. I don't think my Kahr slide allowed for the screw head holding the front pin sight to clear the barrel during recoil.

Kahr claimed to use loctight but the screw both times would come loose after a few shots and the barrel would shear the head of in no time.

I did manage to tighten it a few times if I noticed it was loose but in the end the recoil was too much for the design and you can't reuse the stock plastic sight because it is melted not screwed into the slide so my options where limited.

Kahr offered me a PM9 which has a dove tail front sight straight across for my CM9 with the pin sight but at that point I was tired of the hassle and wanted to move on to another manufacturer.

RussC, I completely understand that. I bought the Kahr because the waiting list at my LGS was 40 deep for a Shield and they said 9-12 mths. I've only run a few hundred rounds through this CM9 but it is very stiff. I may just leave it alone until I can acquire a shield at a reasonable price point for me.
