I've been thinking of S&W Kit Guns??????

I own a snubbie 317, 4" 63, and a 650. When my son was in Boy Scouts, I never went on a hike without the 317 on me, either in my pocket or on a lanyard around my neck.

A great alternative to a rimfire revolvers are the 30/31 .32 Long revolvers. Just as easy to pack and a bit harder hitting.

M63

I found mine recently, in a little mom & pop store that had about 10 handguns total. I could not believe my eyes. They took a Sig P226 police trade-in, I had as a project gun in trade, and now I am the owner of this great little gun. Of course, the J-Frame, square butt, combats were an extra $100. But with the trade, I have about $150 cash and a ratty old Sig into it. One of the best deals I ever made. Great gun for camping, fishing, and hiking. Mine does not have a pinned barrel, even though it is a no-dash model. It is very accurate as a field gun. In the summer, I carry two rounds of CCI shotshell and 4 rounds of CCI Stingers. Figure that will handle most things in the wilds of central PA. In my opinion, every revolver guy or gal needs at least one .22LR or Mag.

You'll find 4" model 34-1s to be most available, followed by 4" model 63s. 2" Kit Guns are relatively expensive due to CCW training (and because they are so darn cute ;) ). You are correct that the dual cylinder guns are expensive; many people find the short-barreled .22 Magnums loud. Keep an eye on the sales ads here and the gun auction sites, the Kit Guns are out there.

Them 2" revolvers are cute murphydog:). They are also great squirrel and rabbit revolvers and a blast to shoot. I had a 4" 63. Liked it but love my Cutie (gonna name it that). Thanks for the name Alan!

Swabby...you should be ashamed of yourself....send those old folks another check!

We have a saying down here where I come from..."even a blind hog finds an acorn every now-n-then", or..."that's like finding a bird nest on the ground".

I found an almost new model 66 (early pinned barrel, stainless rear sights, NL, etc.) a while back for $450 and I thought that was my "acorn".
