I've Eaten Crow, Again!

Black Velvet is aged 8 years in bourbon barrels. Can I call it bourbon?

Only if the mash is made from at least 51% corn--per law.

On a side note, I found the mega bottle of JB Black for $25 at Sam's Club. That's six bucks less than anywhere else in town.

I've been big into bourbon for several years now and JD Single Barrel has been on my radar for awhile and high on my list of bourbon to buy. Enjoy your review, nicely done. Another bourbon high on my lust is WIld Turkey Rare Breed.
Right now there's a good news bad news thing going on. The bad news some bourbons, that because of demand
used to be $30 are now going for $60. Mckenna is an example, along with others Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace to name s few. The good news the whiskey industry has reacted to the demand and has marketed some very good offerings.
Currently, I've got about twenty open bottles of bourbon on hand that I consider good stuff, ranging in price $20-$70. My list of bourbon to get keeps getting longer with all the new offerings. Small Batch, Single Barrels, Store Picks, Finished Bourbon ect... A lot to choose from at any price point.
All in all right now it's a good time for bourbon drinkers, so suck up and have another one. Cheers.

When you lads get tired of drinking the colonial stuff Give a bottle of Ardbeg 10 a try. You WILL be enlightened-I promise.
Fair warning however, it is NOT meant to be drunk with ice or anything more than a splash of water to open it up.

OK, so I had to Google that one, SCOTCH! No wonder I never heard of it. Should have figured it was.

Really, sure, I'm a wimp, but anything stronger than Bud Light and I can't get it past my nose without gagging. Okay, but why do I like -10 degree Yukon Jack? And it's sweet, like Southern Discomfort, but it's still instant body part opening for me. Regular bourbon whiskey won't go down my throat; nor will irregular bourbon. CR comes in a classy bottle with a cool purple bottle sock, but not for me. I must've had a bad reaction one time!!!
