IWB CARRY QUESTION

It depends on the holster. Some do not work well in front of the hip. In other cases it depends on the dimensions of the pistol. I carry mine on the hip.

I usually carry on the hip. I do a lot of driving so it is a good compromise of concealment and comfort, both in and out of the vehicle. Of course, this is when carrying my HK P2000SK, which is a pretty small gun. When carrying larger guns IWB (Beretta 92FS, S&W4506, etc.) I usually carry slightly behind the strong side hip.

I've tried "appendix carry" and found it uncomfortable when seated, hard to release thumb-breaks, and more difficult to conceal. I know others who always carry in this position, so it's more personal preference.

I carry a full size 1911, slightly behind the hip in a forward cant. When sitting in a car for a while, I will shift it slightly forward for comfort and accessibility.

Hope that helps,

Frank
