I've been looking at pancake cross-draw holsters (as fallback) while I assemble a shoulder holster with harness that distributes the weight of my Ruger SP101 three-inch with 158-grain bulleted cartridges more comfortably.
In the past when I would be trying revolvers and holster positions, I would insert revolver barrel between pant and belt, sometimes just shoving revolver barrel inside the waistband.
Has anyone tried/bought an IWB holster for revolvers having three-four inch barrels where the cylinder is above the belt similar to a [Buckheimer] semi-shoulder holster's position? What I mean is that the "inside the waistband" part of the revolver is its barrel. Not knowing a great deal about making holsters, I imagine holster would require belt loops and perhaps a thin rigid plate to maintain holster's position when worn.
