J.C. Higgins bicycle from the 40's....

My neighbor sold his house and had a garage sale today. He's retired and has a place in Florida. He's moving down there.

He had a 1940's J.C. Higgins ladies bicycle, all original with manual, for sale. His wife is the original owner.

I googled this picture...it looks pretty much just like this...

Just curious if anybody here knows the value of something like that?

Get it restored.
I don't know if it's valuable or not, but if it's pre-war, it's made of good American steel and is our heritage at it's finest.
I'd be proud to own something like that. :)
 
A quick check on ebay shows similar bikes from 75 to 499 (that one didn't sell).

If mint, I'd say you could get upwards of 200 for it. If rusty, missing/replacement parts you might be lucky to get $50.

These were sold by Sears and my guess is they sold a "boat load" of 'em.
