I am very fond of Chiefs Special Targets in both 2" and 3"
For this thread, I will only go into the longer barreled ones
Here is a nice old square butt Model 36 Chiefs Special Target. This one dates back to 1975

My most modern stainless Chiefs Special Target is a Model 60 Pro. These came with a Tritium insert in the front sight. Being such a small vial in the thin sight blade most people thought the sights were dead on arrival. There was so little Tritium gas in the vial, it needed a very dark room and time for your eyes to adjust so that it could be seen, definitely a bad choice of sight. This one was produced in 2008
While not a square butt, these factory supplied grips are very hand filling
