J frame 3"

Hello,
I have a 60-4 & a 60-10

Was $375 a good price to pay in this day and age?

You did good. Those M36-10's have a product code of 150184, and they're still in production. A pc that starts with "15" is usually seen on standard production guns that have some special feature. Like "pinto" guns will often be 15's. J-frames with pink grips. Some of the laser guns are 15's. Stuff like that.

What I like about your -10 is it has the traditional shaped thumbpiece. S&W has been using the "angled" thumbpiece since the early '90's. (I call it a "Nike" latch, because it looks like the Nike "swoosh" symbol). It's good to see them go back to the old school latch shape. A few other guns are using it now, but not many.

I have had a good many 3" J frames over the years. This Model 60 is the only one I have left.

Question?????

I see all these J frames and I am confused. Why is it I have a 60-4 in 38 sp. and people tell me I shouldn't shoot +Ps in it (or at least not many. Now the main question --- what is the difference in a J frame 38 and a J frame 357 mag? I really don't understand what makes them different. I mean strength wise.

S&W 60-4

I found a round to square set of grips for mine.
While the rubber ones sit in a draw somewhere.

Round to square? Why would you downgrade... :D

I have to say that I didn't realize that my one question would have this much of an answer! i see tons of beautiful firearms and your all great for sharing1 Thanks again and as soon as I get the one I am looking at I will post up pics!

Beautiful pictures of some beautiful guns! Thanks, OP, for asking your question... ;)

Seriously, the knowledge that some of you have of S&W revolvers is pretty amazing, and my appreciated.

I like this 3 incher the best of the bunch. A working gun. I've had a nickel 36 in 3" and a blued 3" 36 but like a FOOL, traded both of them away for Lord knows what over the years!

Now I must have another. It just never ends, I guess.

I have a 36-1 and love it. The 3 in barrel adds not only a better sitr range, but also about 2 oz over the 2 in. It can be pocket carried in a pinch, but my 442 handles that better. At the range though, the 36-1 is a champ. Very little recoil and much easier to aim.

I have a 3" Model 60 Pro and a 3" 36-10 Classic in J Frames. I am searching for a decently priced Model 650.

favorite format!

have 2

3" 36 RB with pencil barrel

and

3" 60 Ladysmith RB with heavy barrel

Great guns. Just start watching for them and they pop up all the time. I think they are best in 38 vs 357

I picked up this 60-4 a few months back, configured as pictured. Shot very little, tight lock up, perfect timing and excellent trigger. Also, unlike the used revolvers I usually buy this one had never been opened up or molested internally.

Appearance-wise, I'd prefer the original ramp front sight but the Hi-Viz installed works very well. A set of fancy wood stocks is also on the list at some point. I do have to say the installed Crimson Trace grips are very comfortable and make the gun a pleasure to shoot.

I'd wanted one when these were first offered but things never seemed to work out until now. I've currently got an order in with Lobo for one of his enhanced pancake holsters. It'll make a great packing gun this year during deer season.
