My only EDC is a 442 Pro Moon Clip. As a rule, I carry 5 rounds in the gun and 2 or 3 moon clip reloads for a total of 15 to 20 rounds total. How does that stack up with the rest of my fellow J Frame carriers?

That's more ammo than I carry. I'm only willing to carry one reload max.

How are you liking that 442 Pro? I wish S&W would put the XS Big Dot Tritium sight on it. Then it would be a complete package IMHO.

On my 638, 5 rounds and 2, 6 round speed strips with 5 in each, total 15. I find the "extra" being empty on the speed strip is easier to handle, plus they double duty when I carry my 6 shot revolvers. Then I do load 6 in each total 18.

Tried a speed loader, nice, but to bulky to carry.

I might pack a speed strip. But often I just have the five in the gun.

Moon clip in the revolver, moon clip in the pocket. 10 total.

Sometimes, for no reason at all, I throw an extra moon clip in the pocket thinking it's sixth sense, but nothing comes of it (thankfully). ;)

Love the moon clips....quicker reload than speed strips. Great little gun.

Big thumbs up from me. About the perfect deep concealment, everyday carry personal defense revolver.

I've used several Js, up to and including the excellent 640 Pro, and the 442 Pro (now called the Moon Clip) is preferred. Completely agreed that a factory included XS Big Dot -- or just a pinned front sight so I could switch out more easily -- would make it ideal.

If I haven't resolved the problem with the 5 158 grain JHP's I have in my 360, then it's in Gods hands.

When I carry a j frame, it's a M38

I don't carry a reload on my person.

I only carry one shell. The other four cylinders are empty. When you're good, one is all you need. ;)

No, I normally only carry five rounds. I have speed loaders and speed strips, but seldom use them.

I carry five rounds in a 642 no lock with a speed strip for a reload, 10 rounds total.
