Howdy and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!!
Been a while. Too busy being retired.
Back a couple years ago, I took a model 650 and "made" a LR cylinder for it taken from a Model 34. Timing is good, etc.
However, about 1 out of 6 rounds fails to fire because firing pin does not jab into the shell rim deep enough and it is not always on the same chamber.
Close examination shows the cylinder has a tiny amount of forward-backward play.
I ordered some shims for a "J=frame" but they were the wrong size.
I need a couple shims about .002" that have an Inside Diameter of .224 or .225 to fit in front of cylinder. I know this will increase cylinder gap a bit but this is a non-issue for my purpose.
Anyone know of a source?
THANKS so much in advance, Bo in NC
