J frame cylinders

???? The cyl assy, cylinder and extractor, with ejector rod, center pin, etc slides off the yoke all together just like a K, L, or N frame.

tomcatt51,
You are so right for the vintage gun being discussed. Thank you for correcting me from misinforming hdguy! I've been working on pre war guns these days and my mind was stuck in pre war gear. On those, of course you do have to remove the ER to take the cylinder off the yoke.

Sounds like I can either swap cylinders or whole assemblies with the yoke (crane?). Might be a little easier to just swap out the whole assembly. Only other thing that bothers me is that I have a scandium frame and I worry about repeatedly removing and installing the yoke screw.

Yes

Might be a little easier to just swap out the whole assembly.

Remove the cylinder and yoke and slide the cylinder off the yoke and see.

Only other thing that bothers me is that I have a scandium frame and I worry about repeatedly removing and installing the yoke screw.

Then don't do it. I have 158 JHP's coming out of a 640 (38 special) at 1,000 fps. Really need (or want) more? They're as abusive as I want.
