J Frame Grips

I have a Model 36-6 which came with a set of Hogue dimpled rubber monogrips, which I hated, they were too spongy and had too much give. I replaced them with a nice Hogue wooden Monogrip. The monogrips allow the use of speed loaders, and offer a substantial gripping surface. I bought a backup set of S&W wooden grips.

FWIW, the later stock rubber "boot" grips work great for me on 38s.
For J-frame 357s the stock rubber grips from a small frame TAURUS (85, 605, etc.) are the best small concealable grips I've found.
They cover both the fore and back strap of the grip frame and they are a nice medium soft rubber with a pebbly surface that absorbs recoil but doesn't hang on clothing.

I am still using the uncle mikes style rubber grips that came on my 642 about 15 years ago. The rubber on the grip slowing your draw from the pocket? I don't see how since your fist is wrapped around the grip.

Not the best for everyone I'm sure, but great for me. I like the Herrett's Shooting Ace grips on my J frames.

These on my 642-1 have some worn checkering from using speed loaders. That's OK though because the gun is worn in places as well.

Here's another set on a model 36.
