S&W changed the extractor rod threads to left hand threads to keep them from unscrewing during recoil on the magnums. Did they ever go to left hand threads for the J frame? If so, what time frame?

When reading the engineering change data (dash number variations) on the J frame guns in the 4th Ed. catalog, no mention is made of changing the extractor rod threads from right to left-hand thread. I would assume it wasn't done, since it mentions it in all the K and N frame guns, but all I really know is what I've read in the catalog. Someone more familiar with actual smithing or ownership of J frames might have better input.

I was concerned that the ejector rod had been change out on my early chief spl since it had left hand threads. But the cylinder and ejector were serial numbered, so I was a bit confounded. Thanks again.
