J-Frame on the ankle

I used a Bianchi X12 for 22 years for my Model 37 BUG. Several years ago I bought a Galco Ankle Glove and never put the Bianchi on again. IMHO there is no more comfortable or secure ankle holster than the Galco. I often wear it 15 to 18 hours a day.

Follow-up...

I have worn it a few times and it does stay in place - note that I am not too active (running jumping climbing) therefor cannot report on that yet. It will take me time to find just the right tightness for the calf strap and ankle wrap to get to where I can keep it on for long periods.

So far,I am pleased with my purchase.

if you use a galco ankle band (i think it was) dont use an all steel J frame. those holsters with the elastic only retention must be made for the airweights only or something.....had a local deputy "loose" his (640 .38) during an officer survival school....well he found it because he stopped running to pick it up as he felt it fall out of the holster.....he doesnt use that holster any more, and it didnt look like the elestic one shown above with a strap across the trigger guard, this one (i said galco because thats all i could think of) looked like a J frame holster with a small elastic opening at the top to stuff the gun in. maybe it was worn out?

The one pictured above is a Renegade....the pouch is unmolded leather and is holding up great after 7 years...I think the Galco ankle band uses just an elastic pouch (they do have a pricier model with a molded leather holster that is very nice)...I would think a steel gun would wear that elastic out pretty quickly...

sip, i said "galco" because it looks like the one they have in their ads....but i didnt know the deputy that well and just didnt ask him what brand it was, he felt idiotic enough as it was after that "budget holster failed.....not that my desantis is as pricey as a milt sparks or ken knull or anything....but it has a positive retention device.
