I just found out that the trigger rebound spring for the J-frame is different from the one that is used in the K, L, and N frames. I thought they were the same, probably because the replacement springs sold by Wolff are advertised as being the same for J, K, L and Ns. My question is - if you put one of the Wolff springs in a J frame, do you need to do anything to it? Like shortening it a coil or two? Is there a source other than Wolff for a reduced strength rebound spring?

I HAVE VERY BAD LUCK WITH WOLFF SPRINGS.I HAVE A COLT 1903 32 ACP AND A 1908 COLT 380. WOLFF LISTS THE SAME RECOIL SPRING FOR BOTH. SO I CALLED THEM AND THE GUY TOLD ME IT WILL WORK.DA! I THINK A 380 HAS A LITTLE MORE POWER THAN A 32. SO I WENT WITH WILSON COMBAT SPRINGS. BROWNELLS SELLS A WILSON COMBAT SPRING SET FOR S&W USE THE HAMMER SPRING AND THE 14LB. REBOUND SPRING. DON'T CUT SPRINGS. PAGE 171 BROWNELLS CATALOG NUMBER 61. PRICE IS $8.95 FOR THE SET.
