I have a S&W 36 and would like to reduce and smooth out the DA trigger pull. I have seen plenty of "spring kits" for the J Frame. Does anyone have an opinion on their favorite spring kit? Is there anything else I can do in addition to the springs to smooth out the action? Thank you.

IMHO, just changing springs without being sure the action is smooth and burr-free is a waste of time.
I shoot several hundred rounds on a new gun (cleaning regularly) and then decide if I need the innards smoothed.
All you need to put a lighter mainspring in a J frame is a screwdriver to remove the grips and a paper clip to remove the mainspring.

If the 36 is to ever be used to protect your life or that of a loved one, you would be advised to not change the mainspring. Misfires can result. Once the gun is really "broken in" and it is still too heavy, see about a trigger job, not necessarily changing any springs.
