Last week I completed my retired LEOSA qualifications using my M&P9c and my M&P340. No problem with the 9c, but every year, I'm a little apprehensive with the j-frame. We have to shoot the same course of fire with backup/off-duty guns as the duty guns, so that means shooting the j at 25 yards. Late last year, I purchased a set of the Hogue Tamer grips for the bodyguard/centennial frame revolvers, and usually only put them on when firing the j-frame on the range. Normally I carry it with a set of Altamont combat grips, in the pocket. Put the Tamers on during the quals, and that really made a difference this year. Just enough grip for all 3 fingers, and it really soaks up the recoil. Drew and fired from the pocket, and discovered that the grip doesn't take up that much more room. May have to leave those grips on all the time!!
