I just got an e-mail from them stating that they have in stock, police or security company trade in, heavy barrelled Model 10's from $180 - $220, depending on condition. I believe they also have standard barrel versions, along with some Model 15's. Thought that I would just pass it on.

I would hurry and get a 64. They do run out of 64s but they rarely run out of M10s. They just got a shipment of 300 M10s from an Illinois security company. The company traded they in for Beretta M9s.

I just wish the 64's didn't have the bobbed hammer. I don't understand why they do that on a K frame. It's not like you are going to put it in your pocket.

If it is a LE trade-in, it may have been for a liability factor. The old "hair-trigger" premise while in single-action was common thought amongst LE in years past. Some officers were known to have cocked the hammer into the single-action mode and forgot and tried holstering and..........AD.

DAO for cop guns also makes the gun more "dummy proof", not every cop is a gun person, and the last thing any PD needs is a cop accidently shooting someone with a cocked revolver.

Unholster, point, pull through in DA......about as simple as it gets, last thing you want is people who don't handle guns alot cocking hammers.

The 2inch parts kit for 99 dollars caught my eye. I've got a pre-10 M&P 4 inch and would love to convert it to a 2 inch barrel. Everything I need is in that parts kit right? All I would have to do is replace the barrel and extractor bits. Is that a hard job?

Yes, replacing a barrel is not something you can do in your garage with a padded vice........ask me how I know!

I got lucky 1 time with a Victory revolver, I twisted on a new barrel and by some miracle of luck it had correct b/c gap, and hit near the POA. I have tried it again, and it was a nightmare........it is not as easy as twist off old one, twist on new one!

I picked up a nice 10-5 from this group (looks like they are sold out now) nice gun and a welcome addition to my collection

Wow, that was quick. They've had those 64s and 15s listed for what seems like nearly a year now. Butch, can we see a pic of the one you got?

I ordered a Model 10 4" heavy barrel from them on Monday.
My order is in processing (they told me their gunsmith has to go over them before they ship--might take a week before they ship--I told them no problem from me).
And now I see they have disappeared fro their site.
I guess either they have sold out or perhaps they will re-appear once the gunsmith goes over whatever they have?

I ordered one wirh a standard barrel on Sunday and it shipped on Monday but I haven't recieved it yet. It was one of the good to very good condition since that was all they listed for the standard barrel.

where are the model 10s? Did they disappear already?

There is a MO dealer that sells at gun shows in the Mid West. This guy will purchase 50-100 at a time. Cleans them up a little with cold blue and sells them in an MTM case for $400 - $500 as "high quality pre lock models".

I'm an old gezeer -- I've given up on trying posting pictures and such --- the gun is a thin barreled 10-5 in about 80% blueing -- a few dings and holster ware -- ugly rubber grips -- easy fix -- a good shooter and home defense gun and a great price

I wager we'll see a lot of beat up Model 10's on GunBroker for $3-400 either parkerized or with cheap buff and blue jobs:rolleyes: That's where all the J&G Model 10's will be!

Well, not everyone of them--lol.

But I understand what you mean and you are probably right.
