Here is the model 10-5 I recieved before I did anything to it. I am well satisfied for the money I paid. It locks up tight and has no endshake and good rifling and bore. I shot a few rounds for function and was pleased with it also.
Given that it's an ex-security piece, I'm sure it's protected many guards while they napped and that's not oil finish on the grips, it's pizza grease and donut oil
I'm pretty sure they are out of them, or at least ran through the first "batch". At that price FFL dealers were buying them 200 at a time for resale, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few at my local dealer since he uses J&G to get the Mosin rifles he stocks. Probably marked at $250-300.
Yes, they told me they were sold out...but you never know they may come back again.
I received mine out of the "good" conditioned batch and it was better than I expected. The only bad thing were the grips--they are pretty beat. But the bluing is good and the bore is bright and shiny, the lock up tight. I took it to the range today and it shot very well. I am quite pleased for $189.
Now if anyone has a pair of nice K frame square butt grips....let me know--lol.
