45 Colt 250gr. RNFP
I bought some last fall at the Wannemaker Gun Show. I almost waited too late to buy them & got the last couple hundred 45 Colt 250gr (closer to 243gr) cast lead RNFP flat base bullets they had. They seem pretty hard (16BHN?) & casting/lube seemed uniform & overall quality was good. They have a nice bright finish. I loaded some up for my Ruger SRH 454 in S-L 45 Colt cases. Only loaded a few small test batchs (working up loads/combinations for my new gun) at that time. Some were loaded with Unique ranging ~1265fps to 1365fps (30K-35K CUP), +P+ level. They shot fine but might have been pushing the hardness with this relatively fast powder, but I'd have to shoot more at a set weight to say for sure. I also shot some loaded with LiL'Gun loaded to ~1250fps (24K CUP) with no problems noted. Also loaded a test batch for my 325 in AR cases & 2400 to ~1000fps, also fine. Though limited, my impression of them is good.
