Here is a pre-Model 27 which was engraved for me by James DeMunck of Rochester, New York. Jim did the entire gun with a diamond tip cutter and inlaid more than 6ft of 24KT gold wire, outlining the entire frame, cylinder and all lettering and S&W logo. The front sight insert is a piece of 14KT gold. Jim inlaid the ivory grips (which were made for me by the late Saul Weisenfeld) with S&W pre-war large silver medallions, and 14KT gold diamonds which he also engraved. Jim presenly works for Galazan's engraving Fox shotguns.(There are at least 2 articles about him in the Double Gun Journals, that I know of). I got to know Jim, as at one time before his engraving career, he worked for the same sheriff's dept I retired from, and was also part of our 911 emergency communications center. I personally feel very fortunate to have had Jim engrave this special revolver for me.

Very nice. I did a quick edit to make the pictures appear, I hope you don't mind.

Very impressive work. I can't tell from the picture, but it almost looks like you can see the extractor rod from the right side?

The ivories are wonderful.

Beautiful work! It's a real bonus to have known the artist personally. Thanks for sharing,

Jerry

Wow that is awesome!! The gold inlay looks perfect, that not easy to do.

The illusion of seeing the extractor rod is due to the special checkering done to the extractor rod housing. Jim told me this was one of the most extensive engraving projects he had ever done (it took two and a half years between his other work load to finish this), and is his favorite handgun to date that he did. Jim said that he could never undertake a project like this again due to his current work load. Again I am very fortunate to own such a prize revolver

Very nice work. Grips are fabulous. Congratulations!

Model39,

I only collect engraved revolvers and yours is one of the best I have seen. SJ
