Anybody know what the Vegas over/under is on somebody getting shot while pointing one of these at the wrong person???

Marui makes very good airsoft reproduction guns.

They can be pretty expensive. An AR version can cost up around $600... Or more, But they are some of the best made. And in places like Japan, they are your only option.

Gas blowback pistols are powdered by "green gas" which is simply propane with a little silicone oil mixed in for lube. All Airsoft guns in the US are supposed to have an orange tip at the end of the gun, but a lot of mall ninja kids and adults either remove the tip or color them black and yes they do get themselves killed that way, there are several cases of this.

Airsoft guns are great training tools for trigger control. They are in some ways better than rimfire versions of the same gun because you can shoot them in your backyard in the city or even in the garage and it's totally legal. Plus, with the current price of rimfire being almost as expensive as centerfire, $10-$17 for 5,000 bb's is a good price. They also sell adapters to fill the guns with the two for $5.50 Walmart camping propane tanks instead of the expensive airsoft cans.

The internals of an Airsoft gun is more complex than our real guns. My kids were into it a few years ago and I was amazed at the realism of these guns. The detail and even the weight of the guns can be pretty close. I know that some law enforcement agencies use airsoft guns in training. A typical gas blowback pistol can cost $100-$300. I think you can get the S&W licensed M&P's for about $150. These even have the segmented trigger that we all hate ;)

There are also c and Shield's out there too.

The magazines carry the BB's and the gas.

Here's a more detailed vid of the guns including a strip down. It's pretty amazing.

Do check your local regs on this. For example, in the city in which I live, it's not legal to shoot anything with a projectile. Technically, a Nerf gun is not legal. Would they ever throw you in jail for shooting a BB gun in your back yard? Probably not. But laws do vary with jurisdiction, so be aware before proceeding.

In NJ you will definitely see the inside of a jail cell if you get caught with one. They are treated the same as any other handgun here and a pistol purchase permit is required to buy one.

Totally agree with this.....Sooner or later it will happen....why the **** anyone wishes to make toy guns look so real is beyond my understanding...I could see teens and young adults who can't acquire weapons using these also....

I don't know but Japan is not allowed to have a real gun for civilian so they just want to make a possible to close to looks real i guess. Can't have a real gun but kinda feels like a have a gun.

The good thing about an airsoft gun is that you can shoot it in your garage or even you living room if you're so inclined and you won't have anyone calling the police on you unlike if you were practicing with a .22. Be aware that the gas used in a GBB gun is propane and it does smell like rotten eggs so you don't want to shoot the gun in your house if it bothers others. Using a GBB gun for target practice and trigger control is one step up from the Laser targets, but still a step below even a .22.

I've heard of some Japanese shooters who've done nothing but practice with airsoft guns until they actually went abroad for an international competition to use real guns. I'm certainly glad I'm not forced to those measures.

If you watched the comparison video, you will see that the Tokyo Marui M&P has a very realistic trigger that has excessive overtravel. The reviewer complained about it, but it's more realistic than he realizes.

I have mixed feelings about BB and airsoft guns that look as close to a real gun as this. Its easy to imagine a kid with one in his belt in a mall or school causing a panic or worse.
I remember a Cops episode recently where a young man had a plastic M-16 in his belt and was very close to being shot by police after someone reported that there was a man carrying a weapon on the street. It was a very unpleasant meeting with the ground for him.

This. I enjoy shooting my KWC 1911 in the backyard, at work, in the house... I can practice drawing from a holster and if I had bad trigger control, I won't end up in the hospital. Shooting at the range is great and all, but who gets to practice in a more realistic environment? You have to take a tactical shooting class and pay hundreds of dollars to do that.

That kid that got killed in CA(?) a little while ago with the AK47 airsoft gun didn't buy that himself at walmart. His parents bought him that. His parents failed to teach him when and where to be using it. These are not toys.

This one is all metal and weighs/operates the same as the real thing. The biggest difference is the recoil spring is super light compared to a 16-18lb spring in a .45;) It was only $100 too.

Has anyone found where to buy one of those and what are they selling for? I have a Desert Eagle 50AE that has either a long barrel or a standard barrel and is a blow back. I quit shooting it when I was having problems filling the mags with Green Gas.
