Jennings 22 for a plinker

Jennings too small for pistol whipping, and unreliable for shooting.

So keep the fifty dollars and save for a S&W P-22 cheap, fun, reliable, still too small for pistol whipping but if it shoots you won't have to.

I gave mine away to a college buddy 25 years ago after he helped me out on some stuff. IMO, the manual of arms for this gun is flawed; never keep one in the chamber.

I had one for a short time ...sold it at the local auction house for $50.....Glad to be rid of it.....jammed every other shot......anyone remember the RG revolver.....I had one of them for a tackel box gun when I was a kid.....If I remember right it was quite the piece of junk also...........Used to buy them new for $19.00 I was at my local gun shop years ago and this woman came in with a RG 22 wanted to sell it, my friend gave her $20 for it then took it outside and put it on a piece of rail road iron and hit it with a hammer it exploded in all directions.....he told the lady that he just wanted her to know he wasn't going to resell it and that he gave her more than it was worth.
He said he didn't want anyone shooting the little pile of junk....

I agree with most of you that have had bad experience with the Jennings. I too share your experiences having owned more than one Jennings. I took a new Jimenez in on a trade not figuring I was allowing the former owner more than $10.00 for his piece. Suprise, I took it with me to the range and ran 500 minimags through it without a stovepipe or anything. Couldn't hit much beyond 10 feet but it worked. Maybe Jimenez has worked out the bugs or else I just got an exceptional one. I think I will keep it for awhile and see how it performs with some more shooting. I had a .380 once that came apart when I fired it about 10 times. There are people that swear by these pistols and actually use them for self defence. On the other hand, I see more Jennings for sale than any other on the KSL classifieds. I have had bad luck even with some of the "better" autos but never a revolver in the .22 family. I think the S&W .22 kit gun is as good as you can get for my money.

I've owned two Jennings-They both worked. Great firearms? No, but for an inexpensive plinker and tacklebox gun I consider them worth every penny.......but I also think that a cheap .22 revolver is a superior plinker.

Ditto. My experiences to a 'T'....

I would try and talk them down a bit on the price and if you can, go for it. Cheap guns can be fun as hell.

Besides, "saturday night specials" tend to piss off the gun ban crowd :D

I wouldn't be caught with a Jennings in my hand. I'd rather be caught with a fat lady in both hands.

Re: those who use one as a "tackle box gun," it might be useful as a sinker.

Be safe.
