"Race car driver Jessi Combs, who earned the title of the 'Fastest Woman on Four Wheels' after she set a record with a jet-powered car, has died. She crashed the vehicle, officials said, while trying to beat a land speed record."

"Combs had previously set the women's land-speed world record for four-wheeled vehicles in 2013, driving the North American Eagle. She made the record-breaking run in the Alvord Desert in Oregon. She reportedly had an average speed of 398 mph."

She was brilliant, beautiful, and an extremely talented builder and driver. She was only 36-years-old.

You may read about it here. And here.

Rest In Peace, Jessi.

She was at one time the host of All Girl Garage on the Motor Trend network.....what a shame.

I used to see her on the 4x4 building show with the blonde lad with the beard. Both were clearly talented and having way too much fun.

RIP, Speedy Lady.

With the safety features, we have today I can't remember the last time we had a fatality in NASCAR, INDY Car or F1. Does anyone know exactly what went wrong here?
Jessi RIP!

Yeah, Ian..

I used to see her on the 4x4 building show with the blonde lad with the beard. Both were clearly talented and having way too much fun.

RIP, Speedy Lady.

He left the "power nation" some time ago-what a loss-this guy can fabricate-and she was his partner for quite a while in the early episodes-saw her on Jay Leno garage not long ago talking about speed records.

I remember her from Mythbusters. It's a shame that she lost her life, but like already has been said, at least she was living her dream. I did a little sleuthing and saw the "car" she wrecked and died in. It was basically an F-104 Starfighter fuselage that was converted into a LSR vehicle. So I imagine she was moving along at quite a clip when things went pear shaped.

RIP Jessi.

Sad indeed.
RIP Jessi

Talent and beauty in a single package. Not often found.

At least she lived her life took it to the limit and enjoyed the ride.

Experienced more in her short life than most of us will for sure.

Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy, but, I just don't get the mind set
of speed freaks, high wire walkers, mountain climbers, sky divers
and assorted other adrenalin rushers. Maybe if I were 20 again I
would understand thinking I was bullet proof.
